My DD is 5 1/2 and she is finally going to have a real bday party. Its nice some parents can afford to go crazy but is it really, truly necessary?
Um, seriously? Eighty-thousand for a doll, and $2,000 for a darn cake? And oh yeah, supposedly they dropped $95,000 on flowers too.
Yes, we had a little get-together at our house when our son turned a year old. There was cake, food, the company of mily and friends, Birthday Gifts and of course, we gave him a few gifts to unwrap. But we didnt go overboard, because considering how st babies grow out of certain toys, we didnt want to shower him with a bunch of gifts only to have to buy new things for him to play with a few months later.
Also, an 80 thousand diamond encrusted Barbie is a bit much for a one year old. She cant even play with it.
Ill give you a minute to pick your jaw up off the floor before I go any further.
Wasteful. If youre going to throw money around on pointless Birthday Gifts Beyonce Throws Blue Ivy a Birthday Party a Wedding Planner Would Envythings than do something good with it. That money couldve gone to charity and done something actually worthwhile instead of on a stupid doll that has to sit on a shelf because a one year old could easily bite or pick off one of those diamonds (or multiple ones) and eat them and choke and die or become seriously injured.
As you said, most celebs throw ridiculously overpriced and lavish parties for their babies on their first birthday and its always more about give the media a good show (in spite of all their protests and cries for privacy and that their baby will never ever be seen by the media) and impressing and showing up other people/celebs than actually having a quiet private day thats about celebrating your baby and not outspending someone else or posing for paps.
Ok, ready for a couple more details? Apparently little Blue received one verrrrry expensive gift to celebrate her first year at her ridiculously pricey party -- an $80,000 diamond-encrusted Barbie doll. (Bling, bling.) And her birthday cake cost a reported $2,000.
Its great to be mega rich like them but come on a barbie doll worth $80,000 thats extravagant and just plain wasteful. I guess when your worth hundreds of millions, that type of spending is meaningless. But with that type of money I wonder how they will raise this little girl. How will values be instilled if everything is given to her in this manner. I wouldnt over do it for a 1st birthday, the toddler wont even remember or even enjoy the party.
And if that baby got a $200,000 party for her first birthday, I wonder how theyre going to manage to outdo themselves when she turns 2?!? Theyve got quite a tough act to follow, thats for sure.
Aww! Beyonce and Jay-Zs daughter, Blue Ivy, just turned a year old,new york asian escort model a huge milestone thats so exciting for any parent. And its totally understandable that Bey and Jay would want to have a huge party to celebrate their little girls first birthday, but based on rumors floating around as r as party details go, the little shin-dig they planned sounds more like a high-end wedding than a babys birthday bash.

If this is true: RIDICULOUS! I dont care how rich you are... This... Just... I dont even know... I would be so embarrassed to spend that kind of money for a birthday party. And even more embarrassed that the entire world knows I spent that much. Until, of course, I win the lottery one day. Youd better believe I will be throwing everyone I know a $200,000 birthday party every year!
I suppose theres a decent chance that the amount Beyonce and Jay-Z actually spent on their daughter is a bit exaggerated, but if these claims are true? Man. Thats one spoiled kid, all right. And honestly, a lavish party like that is way, way more than any baby deserves -- no matter how mous or wealthy her parents are.

They way they throw money around so lavishly they must think its going to last forever. It would not surprise me to hear in 20 years that they are both bankrupt. We hear about celebrity bankruptcy all the time.
I mean, shes a baby -- so its not like shes going to remember the party anyway. No baby does.
And yes, Im no dummy, and I realize that $200,000 to Beyonce and Jay-Z is probably the equivalent of $200 to us regular folk. Still, if they really did spend that much, it almost seems like they were aiming to impress the adults at the party versus celebrating the first year of Blue Ivys life.

If money were no option, would you spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on your babys first birthday?
